OSHA - General Industry Training

Course Overview: 10-Hour

The 10-hour General Industry Outreach Training Program alerts both new and experienced workers of the dangers in the workplace. The training will include a variety of health and safety topics. Course topics pertain to regulations covered by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) Standards for the General Industry 29 CFR 1910. Special emphasis will be placed on areas most hazardous using OSHA Standards as a guide. Workers must receive additional training, when required by OSHA standards, on specific hazards of the job.


Who Should Attend:

Anyone with safety and health responsibilities, Safety Personnel, Safety Committee Members, Managers and Workers.


Duration:

The duration of this class is 30 Classroom Instruction Hours. The participants will increase their knowledge of OSHA General Industry standards and best practices applicable in the areas such as:

  • Introduction to OSHA/OSHA Act
  • General Duty Clause
  • Inspections, Citations and Penalties
  • Recordkeeping 29 CFR 1904
  • Subpart D-Walking and Working Surfaces
  • Subpart E-Exit Routes, Emergency Action Plans, and Fire Prevention Plans
  • Subpart F-Powered Platforms
  • Subpart H-Hazardous Materials
  • Subpart I-Personal Protective Equipment
  • Subpart J-Confined Spaces
  • Subpart J-Lockout-Tagout
  • Subpart L-Fire Protection
  • Subpart M-Fall Protection
  • Subpart N-Material Handling
  • Subpart O-Machine Guarding
  • Subpart P-Hand and Power Tools
  • Subpart Q-Welding, Cutting and Brazing
  • Subpart S-Electrical
  • Subpart Z-Hazard Communication
